Mom
___
The heavens flashed
in shades of lightning,
with Mother nature’s whispers of thunder
caressing the land –
reverberations felt through
the lurid landscape of life.

Thunderbolts soon after
begin painting the countryside
one color at a time, one flash at a time,
with the brightest shades of white
vibrant blue and iridescent purple
all fusion constantly
and crashing from above,
flashing relentlessly
through the night
like X-Mas tree lights,
in a majestic light-show
Zeus himself
admires from above.

Deep in the horizon,
a newfound day looms,
and though the storm
will always end
and remake itself anew,
Mother nature herself
will always smile
for it knows her son above
Zeus, learned his tricks from her,
but at this moment
it was her turn
to steal the show.
